These are visual observations to share with ACCUMAR before a visit—not instructions to open powered equipment, seawater circuits, or chemical systems.

  1. 1.Check the return-air filter

    With the system off, look at the return-air filter you can safely reach. Clean or replace it only according to the installed unit manual; let a washable filter dry fully before refitting.

  2. 2.Look at the sea strainer

    From a safe, dry position with the system off, look for visible debris or growth through the strainer lid. Do not open a seawater circuit or operate a seacock if you are not trained to do so.

  3. 3.Observe the overboard discharge stream

    From a safe viewing position while the system is operating normally, note whether the overboard discharge is present and steady. Do not reach overboard or handle hoses, pumps, or powered equipment.

  4. 4.Look for condensate drainage

    Check accessible drain-pan and condensate areas for standing water or a visible leak. Do not remove panels or use chemicals; arrange service if water is backing up or entering the cabin.

Full System Descaling & Acid Flush

Is your A/C struggling to keep up or showing a high-pressure warning? Scale and marine growth can restrict the raw-water side, but similar symptoms can come from pumps, strainers, controls, refrigerant, electrical faults, sensors, or compressors. ACCUMAR tests the system first and recommends flushing only when the installed equipment and observed condition support it.

What is involved in a descaling or acid flush service?
Over time, marine growth and scale can build up inside an A/C raw-water circuit, restricting flow and contributing to high-pressure faults. When inspection and measurements support descaling, the approved cleaning process and chemistry are selected for the installed equipment and condition, followed by flow and operating checks.
Can I replace the air filters myself?
Check the return-air filter only as allowed by the installed unit manual. Clean or replace it when its condition and the manufacturer guidance call for it, and let a washable filter dry fully before refitting. If the filter is inaccessible or the system still has weak airflow, arrange service.
