Helm to rudder · Southwest Florida

Boat & Yacht Steering Systems

We install, service and repair steering systems on boats and yachts—from the helm and pump to the cylinder, controls and rudder. Fort Myers-based mobile diagnostics across Southwest Florida, with each repair or refit scoped to the actual vessel.

Most new non-urgent work is currently scheduled about 3–4 weeks out. Urgent requests are reviewed during business hours.

A complete system, not an isolated part

Installation. Service. Repair.

Hard steering, wheel play, leaks and uneven response can have different causes. We inspect the steering chain and recommend work from measured findings.

01

Helms & control stations

Helm feel, multiple stations, power assist, electronic commands and the link between manual and autopilot steering.

02

Pumps & hydraulic circuits

Reservoir pressure, pump operation, fluid condition, fittings, hoses, control valves, leaks and air intrusion.

03

Cylinders & rudder motion

Rams, seals, mountings, mechanical linkage, travel and feedback checked against the installed system.

04

Refits & commissioning

Vessel-specific installation planning, hose routing, bleeding, calibration and operating checks after the agreed work.

System makes we work on

Six names. One vessel-specific plan.

We work on Hynautic, SeaStar, Kobelt, Dometic, Hy-Pro and Volvo Penta steering. The right approach depends on your installed model, controls, engine or drive, access and available parts.

Logos identify equipment makes only. They do not imply that Accumar is factory-authorized for these steering lines. SeaStar is a Dometic product line; the SeaStar tile shows its documented Dometic parent mark. Hy-Pro here refers to Hydraulic Projects Ltd. Product availability and compatibility are confirmed by model.

How we scope steering work

From symptom to a defined repair.

A helm issue, a low reservoir or an unresponsive rudder can point to different failures. We work from the installed system and document the recommended repair or replacement path.
