WESMAR Stabilizer & Bow/Stern Thruster Service

Accumar Marine Services is an authorized WESMAR dealer and authorized service provider in Southwest Florida. We install, service and repair roll-fin stabilizers and bow/stern thrusters, including connected hydraulics, electrical supply and controls. Legacy and current equipment are evaluated by model—not treated as interchangeable.

30+ years of marine systems experience. Most new non-urgent work is currently scheduled about 3–4 weeks out.

Identify the installed system

WESMAR: fins, thrust and control

Manufacturer product families guide equipment identification. Service and parts are selected for the exact model, power arrangement, controls and vessel—not from the brand name alone.

Roll-fin stabilizers & DSP5000

WESMAR's DSP5000 Wave-Smart family combines fin position feedback, vessel-motion sensing and hydraulic actuation. Service assesses the controller, sensors, cylinders, linkage, shafts, seals and power unit. Vessel application and installed components determine the correct setup.

Bow & stern thrusters

WESMAR's counter-rotating dual-propeller thrusters are offered with hydraulic, AC and DC drive options. We inspect propellers, drive legs, shaft seals, bearings, motors and supply conditions. A replacement is selected from tunnel dimensions and the vessel's power and control arrangement.

Legacy controls & upgrade review

Installed DSP4800 and newer DSP5000 systems require different boards, wiring, feedback and setup. We document existing hardware and alarms, then assess repair, replacement or manufacturer-supported upgrade options rather than assuming a plug-and-play conversion.

Power units & station controls

On/off and proportional thruster controls, multiple stations, hydraulic pumps, reservoirs, cooling and electrical protection all affect response. We check the installed drive and communication path before deciding whether a fault is mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or control-related.

Installation · service · repair

Trace the fault through the complete system.

A fin alarm or a weak thruster may begin in the controls, power supply, hydraulics or loaded machinery. We document the installed arrangement, test the relevant circuits and agree on the repair or installation scope.

Replacement parts, seal kits, boards, drives and equipment are checked by model and supplier availability before ordering.

Hydraulic component service

Roll-fin mechanical service

Shaft and seal inspection, actuator and cylinder assessment, bearing and linkage checks, fluid leaks and fin condition. Parts and rebuild decisions follow inspection of the exact assembly.

Bow/stern thruster diagnostics

Evaluate weak thrust, noisy drives, propeller condition, seal leaks, direction response, motor supply and hydraulic delivery. Safe isolation and access come before opening machinery.

Controls, feedback & hydraulics

Trace faults through WESMAR boards, sensors, station wiring, supply and fitted interlocks. Connected pumps, valves, hoses, filters and cooling circuits are checked when relevant to the symptom.

Installation & lifecycle support

Coordinate sizing review, tunnel and structure requirements, power, controls, yard work and commissioning. Existing-system upgrades and maintenance plans remain equipment-specific.

Mobile service. Planned yard access.

Fort Myers-based mobile service across Southwest Florida, subject to travel scope, property permission, safe vessel access, and scheduling availability. Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Punta Gorda and surrounding areas are reviewed from the actual vessel location. Underwater components, tunnels, fin shafts and hull work may need a suitable boatyard or haul-out.

Hours: Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM. Most new non-urgent work is currently scheduled about 3–4 weeks out. Urgent requests are reviewed during business hours. Technician availability, travel, safe access, parts, and response timing are confirmed case by case; first-visit completion and after-hours service are not guaranteed.

Safety comes before troubleshooting.

Keep people clear of fins, thruster propellers and moving mechanisms. Avoid repeated resets or operating damaged equipment. For flooding, fire, injury or immediate vessel danger, contact emergency authorities first; Accumar service intake is not an emergency-response service.

Send controller messages, model and serial tags, symptom history, access photos and the vessel location for technical review.
